Carol Martineau is a Biomechanics coach, having completed many years of training with Mary Wanless, a pioneer of the Biomechanics of Riding.

The Biomechanics of riding address the riders' position, muscle tone, stabilization and asymmetries with regards to how it affects the horses' way of going.

Each rider starts from a different place and needs to make different corrections to get the identical result.

It is possible to teach any rider to ride as well as a so called, "natural rider" or professional rider.

It is usually these natural or professional riders that end up being coaches but the problem is that most of them haven't a clue about what their body does to achieve the results they get from their horse. This makes it very difficult for them to teach their students. They will often tell you what they think they are doing but it isn't actually what they are doing.

Teaching the biomechanics breaks down the skills into bite size chunks and describes them in ways that the average rider can understand.
